Mackerel was again on the agenda at the Agriculture and Fisheries Council, Luxembourg, on 28 June 2011 but no immediate action was agreed. The European Fisheries Commissioner, Maria Damanaki, said that she would present proposals for trade sanctions against Iceland and the Faroes in October.
