The Business Climate Indicator (BCI) for the euro area decreased slightly in January 2006 after an upturn in December 2005. The BCI had been above its long term average since September 2005. Despite the marginal decline in January, the indicator remained considerably above the low point reached in the second quarter of 2005. |
