Press Release: Ireland’s Nitrates Action Programme sent to EU Commission

A national Nitrates Action Programme was sent to the European Commission by Ireland on 22 October 2004 but was rejected as inadequate and in need of strengthening in certain respects.The Irish Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, Dick Roche, on 29 July 2005, announced the submission of Ireland's revised National Action Programme, under the Nitrates Directive, to the European Commission.
