Press Release: International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women – renewed efforts for full implementation of relevant UN resolutions needed

25 November will mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. The European Commission underlined its commitment to fight any form and expression of gender-based violence and to protect and reintegrate victims, in close cooperation with Member States and civil society organisations. This also includes protection against harmful traditional practices, such as female genital mutilation, both inside and outside the EU.
