The European Commission in June 2006 established an expert group to comprehensively identify the barriers to cross-border activity in mortgage funding markets and propose solutions which would facilitate integration. Stakeholders had consistently highlighted the integration of European mortgage funding markets as being crucial for the integration of the mortgage markets as a whole. |
