Press Release: Hewitt welcomes EU competition law reforms

The UK Trade and Industry Secretary, Patricia Hewitt, on 26 November 2002, welcomed reforms to simplify EU competition law procedures and create a level playing field for businesses across the Community. The changes agreed at the EU Competitiveness Council would, in particular, affect companies that entered into industrial co-operation agreements with each other or that held very strong market positions.
