Press Release: Greater transparency in EU affairs will strengthen legitimacy

The European Commission on 3 May 2006 adopted a Green Paper on a European Transparency Initiative. The open public consultations which started on the same day were to launch a debate on lobbying, on the introduction of legal obligations for Member States to publish the information about the beneficiaries of funds under shared management, as well as on the European Commission’s consultation practices.
