Press Release: GM rice situation reviewed at the Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health

The Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health has discussed the possible contamination of long grain rice imports from the United States by the unauthorised GMO LL601, 12 September 2006. Following a presentation by the Federation of European Rice Millers on the controls they are carrying out, Member States updated the Commission and each other on their controls.
