Chancellor Gerhard Schröder began his five-day Asian tour with a visit to the People's Republic of China that will take him to Beijing and the northeastern city of Changchun. From there he will fly to Japan, where he is scheduled to meet with Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi in Tokyo. An audience with Emperor Akihito is also on the agenda
