A German-Polish commission of legal experts is to be formed for the purpose of staving off compensation claims filed by Germans expelled after the Second World War from territories that are now part of Poland. This was agreed on by Chancellor Gerhard Schröder and Polish Prime Minister Marek Belka during their meeting in Berlin. They both want to prevent the issue of reparations from damaging the current excellent state of German-Polish relations
