Development Minister Heidemarie Wieczorek-Zeul and Jeffrey Sachs, Director of the UN Millennium Project, jointly presented the project's final report to the German public at a press conference held in Berlin on 19.1.05. They both take the view that the Millennium Development Goals can be achieved by the year 2015. The report outlines specific measures that, if implemented, would make it possible to cut extreme poverty in half and radically improve the lives of at least one billion people in poor developing countries by 2015 |
