Press Release: Germany: A model for Europe’s regions

Fifty years ago Germany and Denmark established the rights of their Danish and German minorities in the Bonn-Copenhagen Declarations. These declarations were the beginning of a process of reconciliation that led to close and friendly cooperation between the two nations. This relationship became a model for all European regions, Chancellor Gerhard Schröder said in a speech given at a ceremony held in Denmark's Sonderborg Castle
