New legislation came into force, on 19 January 2003, to implement the Fourth Motor Insurance Directive in the UK. The Directive requires the UK, and other States in the European Economic Area (EEA) to implement provisions making it easier for residents of the UK and other states in the EEA to pursue an insurance claim if they have a motor accident in an EEA State other than their state of residence. |
