The European Parliament's foreign affairs committee welcomed on 28 January 2016 the start of EU accession negotiations with Serbia and the progress made in normalising relations between Serbia and Kosovo.

Members of the committee also stressed that these relations would be helped if all member states of the European Union were to recognise Kosovo.

The resolutions on Kosovo and Serbia were confirmed by the parliament's plenary session on 4 February.
