The results of a Food and Veterinary Office survey of national actions to reduce the risk of food contamination by E. coli bacteria were published on 24 January 2002. The report provides interesting examples of good practices that could prove useful in tackling E. coli. The FVO report also gives an overview of the results of inspections undertaken during the past year in six EU countries on the operation of controls over verocytotoxigenic Escherichia coli.
