On 26 March 2001 Franz Fischler, EU Commissioner for Agriculture and Fisheries, and the Moroccan Fisheries Minister met in Brussels to discuss fishing rights and financial compensation. However, following this meeting Franz Fischler declared that it was impossible to conclude an agreement of mutual benefit and that the first question ministers would have to address was how to restructure the affected EU-fleet. |
