The role of local and regional government in fighting discrimination against minorities was to be the focus of a debate at the Committee of the Regions in Brussels on 12 December 2005. The talks, hosted by the CoR’s Commission for Constitutional Affairs and involving representatives of associations of local and regional authorities, were aimed at raising awareness about measures that they could take to help eradicate racist, anti-Semitic, Islamophobic and homophobic behaviour. |
