In 2007 the European Police Chiefs Task Force agreed upon the establishment of EuNAT as an important cooperation mechanism with permanent linkage to Europol. The primary purpose of EuNAT is to have a European Network of law enforcement Advisory Teams to provide a mechanism for facilitating immediate international co-operation when responding to the threat of kidnap, hostage taking and extortion, where human life is at risk. Moreover, EuNAT is a platform for sharing good practice and learning in this specific field. |
