2003 was a turbulent year for the European television industry. This stormy climate, already the subject of previous Eurofiction reports, has settled over the European television landscape over the last few years, and certainly had a wide-ranging and profound impact in 2003. The latest Eurofiction figures show that new domestic fiction broadcast in the course of 2003 on the terrestrial television channels of the five largest European countries decreased from 5713 hours (in 2002) to 5380 hours |
