As part of the celebration of the EU's 50th anniversary, the European Parliament will host an exhibition showcasing the evolution of the EU's buildings and architecture in Brussels. The exhibition will show how Brussels developed into Europe's political capital in the fifty years since the arrival of the first European civil servants in 1957. Featuring blueprints, urban planning proposals, scale models and diaramas, the exhibiton not only looks back on the changes over the past half century, but also looks forward to architectural plans for the future. It also takes a peek at plans that were never realised. The centrepiece of the exhibition will be a complete scale model of the entire city of Brussels. |
