The European Medicines Agency (EMEA), on 8 May 2009, recommended that the shelf life of Tamiflu capsules should be extended from five to seven years. Once formally approved by the European Commission, this would apply to all newly manufactured Tamiflu capsules. EMEA also reviewed ways to use Tamiflu capsules in case of a shortage. These recommendations would only apply if a pandemic had been declared by the World Health Organisation (WHO). |
