Press Release: European Commission proposes a goodwill package to bring northern part of Cyprus closer to the EU

The European Commission has proposed a package of measures which aims to promote economic development of the northern part of Cyprus and bring it closer to the EU.

This initiative responds to the request of the European Council of Copenhagen in December 2002, and consists of financial assistance worth €12 million and measures promoting trade between the northern part of Cyprus and the rest of the Union.
