Press Release: European Commission launches new Call for Proposals under the ‘European Initiative for Democracy and Human Rights’

The European Commission has launched a €40 million Call for Proposals under the European Initiative for Democracy and Human Rights (EIDHR). To ensure greater impact and a more strategic use of resources, the Commission has identified 29 countries, in which EIDHR will concentrate on a limited number of thematic priorities, including support for human rights education, promoting freedom of expression, strengthening the rule of law, promoting democracy and good governance, and conflict prevention.
