Press Release: European Commission appoints new Director-General for Regional and Urban Policy

On 22 June 2016, the European Commission appointed Marc Lemaître as Director-General of its department for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO).

Mr Lemaître, a national from Luxembourg, was Director of the Office for Administration and Payment of individual entitlements (PMO). He took up his new role on 1 September 2016. Mr Lemaître succeeded current Director-General Mr Walter Deffaa, who retired on that date.
