Europol (the European Police Office) and Eurojust (the European Union's Judicial Cooperation Unit) launched new web pages to promote Joint Investigation Teams (JITs) on 30 November 2007. A JIT may be set up by mutual agreement of the competent authorities of two or more Member States, for a specific purpose and a limited period of time, to carry out criminal investigations in one or more Member States. The aim of the JITs web page is to present information on the network of national experts on JITs in particular. |
