Press Release: EU-Latin American and Caribbean Summit: moving the strategic partnership forward

Preview of the 4th EU-Latin American and Caribbean Summit in Vienna (Austria) on 12 May 2006, to be attended by the 25 Heads of State and Government of the European Union and 33 of Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). The overall theme of the summit was the 'Strengthening of the Bi-regional Strategic Association'. The agenda included discussions on key policy issues such as the promotion of social cohesion, regional integration, and multilateralism. Bilateral and regional meetings were to complete in-depth dialogue with LAC countries.
