Preview of a visit to India by EU Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson where he was to meet with Indian leaders, trade officials and industry representatives. The visit was the first to India by a member of the new Barroso Commission. Commissioner Mandelson delivered a keynote speech to the Confederation of Indian Industry in which he welcomed India's rise as a global trading power and urged it to play a leading role in working for an ambitious agreement in the Doha Development Agenda. |
