The European Commission on the 18 September 2014 published information about a new, EU-funded intelligent energy management and recovery system that was designed to cut the consumption of electric vehicles, thus addressing the concerns of many electric car drivers about running out of juice. The system was created by the OpEneR project, which consisted of six partners from Germany, France, Austria and Spain and received €4.4 million of EU investment under the EU seventh framework programme for research and technological development (2007-2013). After three years of collaboration, the project team presented two demonstrator electric vehicles in Spain this summer. |
