On 2.5.01 the European Commission adopted a Communication on EC/UN work on development and humanitarian matters. The formulation of a strategic approach to working with the UN in the area of development and humanitarian aid should be seen as a logical follow-up to the Commission's adoption of an overall EC Development Policy, adopted on 26.4.00. The question of the overall EC/UN relationship, including co-operation in conflict prevention and crisis management, will be addressed in a future document. |
