The eTwinning action was launched in January 2005 and quickly established itself as a major instrument for school collaboration in Europe, with 10,000 schools registering their interest. It was set up to encourage the formation of school partnerships over the Internet, adding a European dimension to the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in school life. eTwinning was the main initiative of the European eLearning programme. |
