Ministers, international experts and representatives from eighteen countries met in Zagreb on 17-18 February 2005 to review progress made in the reform of vocational education and training (VET) by countries seeking to join the EU. The European Training Foundation (ETF), which organised the event, provided a forum to chart the way forward in the context of the EU's most recent policy initiatives. On the first day of the conference, participants evaluated the impact of peer reviews which had been carried out in Albania, Croatia and the three Former Yugoslav Republics (Kosovo, Serbia and Montenegro) during 2002 and in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Bulgaria, Romania and Turkey during 2003. These reviews are available via the first Related Url. The second day of the conference concentrated on new developments in EU VET policy. |
