The European Commission on 11 April 2005 decided to take further legal action against Ireland over three cases where EU laws to protect the environment and human health were being breached. The cases involved aspects of the management of waste water, assessment of the environmental impact of projects and a repeated failure to provide information on measures to protect the ozone layer. The Commission was also pursuing legal action against Germany over its failure to assess the environmental impact of a power plant burning hazardous waste. |
