The European Commission is concerned Austria is not fully applying the principle of cost recovery for water services. On the recommendation of Environment Commissioner Janez Potočnik, the Commission has sent a reasoned opinion to ask Austria to comply with EU law in this area. If Austria fails to do so within two months, the Commission may refer the case to the EU Court of Justice. |
