In light of the publication in 'Environmental Health Perspectives' (a journal of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences in the United States) of a new study carried out on aspartame by the Ramazzini Institute (Bologna, Italy), the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) on 29 November 2005, renewed its request (first made in June and confirmed in September) that the authors provide the Authority with the primary data required to carry out a risk assessment on this substance. |
