Press Release: EFSA promotes public access to data in transparency initiative

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), on 14 January 2013, announced the launch of a major initiative designed to facilitate access to data, enhancing transparency in risk assessment.

Given the level of public interest, EFSA also, on the same day, made publicly available on its website, data on genetically modified (GM) maize NK603. While the Authority had already made available these data upon specific request on several occasions, any member of the public or scientific community will now be able to examine and utilise the full data sets used in this risk assessment.
