The European Parliament's budgets committee approved on 10 December 2015 a proposal to provide Finland and Ireland with aid worth €2.6 million. The aid from the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) aims to help find new jobs for 1,200 redundant Finnish IT workers and over €400,000 for 108 redundant Irish aircraft repair workers. The aid to be provided to Finnish workers was approved by the European Parliament in plenary on 15 December 2015. The proposal still needed to be backed by the Council of the European Union. |
