Press Release: Digital Agenda: EU-funded project uses robots, not humans, to inspect petrochemical containers

The European Commission, together with a consortium of ten European companies led by Shell, launched the PETROBOT project on the 3 September 2013. The project would develop robots which can replace humans in inspections of pressure vessels and storage tanks widely used in the oil, gas and petrochemical industry.
