Dermot Ahern, Irish Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources told the President of the EU Fisheries Council, Danish Minister Mariann Fischer Boel, on 8 November 2002, that not only should the existing controls on entry into the Irish Box be maintained but they should also be strengthened.
