Press Release: Dermot Ahern signs EU electronic communications market definition and analysis regulations

Dermot Ahern, the Irish Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources, on 4 March 2003, signed into law regulations which would enable ComReg (the Commission for Communications Regulation) to undertake a market definition and analysis procedure and decide whether to impose, maintain or change regulatory obligations. This represented the first step in the transposition of the new EU Regulatory Package of legislative proposals on electronic communications networks and services into Irish legislation.
