Press Release: Declaration by the Presidency on behalf of the European Union on the results of the presidential elections in Indonesia

The European Union congratulates President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono upon his successful re-election on 8 July 2009. In peaceful elections the people of Indonesia have testified to their commitment to democracy and have entrusted President Yudhoyono with a strong second mandate, expressing confidence in his policies and the further pursuit of reforms.
