Press Release: Declaration by the Presidency on behalf of the European Union on the opening in the Inter-American Court on Human Rights of the Case of Campo Algodonero on femicide in Ciudad Juarez

The EU welcomes the start of the Campo Algodonero trial at the Inter-American Court on Human Rights in its XXXIX extraordinary session from 27 to 30 April 2009. This case
constitutes an important milestone in the fight against all forms of violence against women because it is the first instance in which the murders of women in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, are to be analysed.
