Press Release: Declaration by the High Representative on behalf of the European Union on the alignment of certain third countries with Council Decision 2013/184/CFSP concerning restrictive measures against Myanmar/Burma and repealing Decision 2010/232/CFSP

The High Representative, Catherine Ashton on 13 May 2013, on behalf of the European Union, welcomed the decision by certain third countries to conform to the Council Decision 2013/184/CFSP concerning restrictive measures against Myanmar/Burma.

The Decision renews the arms embargo and the embargo on equipment which may be used for internal repression against Myanmar/Burma. All other restrictive measures against Burma/Myanmar have been lifted by repealing Decision
2010/232/CFSP.
