Press Release: Danuta Hübner meets key UK Ministers ahead of the British Presidency

European Commissioner for Regional Policy, Danuta Hübner, met Alan Johnson, the UK's Secretary of State for Trade and Industry, and Ian Pearson, Minister of State with responsibility for EU issues, in Brussels on 14 June 2005. The objective of the meeting was to discuss priorities for cohesion policy under the UK Presidency and to underline the importance of reaching an agreement on the Financial Perspectives 2007-2013. Such an agreement was seen to be crucial for the preparation of the next generation of Structural Funds programmes and their enhanced contribution to the Lisbon Strategy.
