In an interview with the German daily 'Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung' on 15 March 2005, Czech president Vaclav Klaus rejected a gesture of goodwill towards members of the remaining German minority in the Czech Republic. Mr Klaus also rejected discussion on the Benes Decrees issue. He said that 'abolishing the Decrees would be like changing history and nobody can do that'.
