The European Parliament's economic and monetary affairs committee organised on 23 June 2015, together with the employment and social affairs committee, an event to discuss economic governance in the European Union and the country-specific recommendations (CSRs).

The members of these committes considered that EU's CSRs on economic policy should should aim more at boosting growth and jobs and EU countries should feel that they 'own' them. Moreover, they also called for social partners to be involved in the process.

The debate had the presence of the European Commission's Vice-President Valdis Dombrovskis and Commissioners Marianne Thyssen and Pierre Moscovici.
