Press Release: Council conclusions on the sustainability of public finances in light of ageing populations

On 12 May 2015, at the Economic and Financial Affairs Council meeting in Brussels, the Council of the European Union adopted conclusions on a 2015 ageing report and stressed the need for appropriate growth friendly fiscal consolidation and for further implementation of structural reforms in order to enhance the sustainability of public finances.
