Press Release: Council Conclusions on the Democratic Republic of the Congo. General Affairs Council meeting, Brussels, 10 and 11 November 2008

The Council is concerned at the fighting that has occurred since 28 August 2008 and the serious humanitarian consequences of the recent offensive by the CNDP, resulting in large numbers of displaced people in North Kivu. It welcomes the decisions taken by the European
Commission and the Member States to increase humanitarian aid to the civilian population affected by this crisis.
