Press Release: Commissioners Lamy and Patten agree with Mercosur counterparts ambitious program for EU-Mercosur trade negotiations

EU Trade Commissioner Pascal Lamy and External Relations Commissioner Chris Patten together with their Mercosur counterparts injected renewed impetus to the EU-Mercosur relations on 24 July 2002 by agreeing on an ambitious program for the trade negotiations. Both parties have agreed on a work-program phasing in the negotiations on all issues under the comprehensive agenda over a calendar of negotiating rounds to take place in 2002 and 2003
