Press Release: Commissioner Piebalgs supports a common energy agenda for the Baltic States

Commissioner Piebalgs attended the Baltic Regional Energy Forum, which addresses the issues of strategic development of the energy sector in the Baltic States, on 12 June 2007. The Forum aims to engage high level participants into discussions on the optimum energy mix and supply aspects, clean and sustainable energy, energy efficiency and new technologies. ''Enhanced cooperation and coordination between the Baltic states in all these areas can bring significant contribution for strengthening the energy security in the Baltic region. I see this event as an important step in forging a common energy agenda for the Baltics,'' said the Commissioner.
