Press Release: Commissioner Piebalgs opens the first Latvian agency of the Intelligent Energy programme

Energy Commissioner Andris Piebalgs inaugurated on 11 May 2007 the first energy agency in Latvia, which was supported by the European Commission Intelligent Energy Europe programme. The programme supports the establishment of new regional or local energy agencies in order to help public authorities, and their communities, improve their energy efficiency and make the most of locally based renewable energy resources.
